Cinnamon & Marzipan Apples Print

Cinnamon & Marzipan Apples

Serves 1

1 medium eating apple, eg, Golden Delicious
20g marzipan
110g butter, melted
225g caster sugar mixed with 4 tbsp cinnamon.

  1. Peel and core the apples. Stuff the cavities with the marzipan. Roll the apples first in melted butter and then in the caster sugar and cinnamon. Arrange side by side in an ovenproof dish and bake in a moderate oven 180°C/350°F/regulo 4, for 30 minutes approx. The apples need to be very soft and almost bursting.

  2. Serve warm with a bowl of softly-whipped cream.

Chef Notes:

Marzipan will keep for 2-3 months in a fridge.
Apples may take less/more time to cook depending on the variety and time of the year.
