Liquidation

Friday 6th November 2020

It is with great regret that we have to you to inform you of the decision to liquidate Cooks Academy Limited.

Cooks Academy has been a successful business since its inception in 2005. At the end of 2019, the company was profitable, had a strong, forward order book, very little debt, a good team in place and was looking forward to the future.

A cookery school is all about bringing people together. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting government restrictions, this has become increasingly difficult. The company has done everything possible throughout the difficult months of 2020 to survive. There is no foreseeable improvement for 2021.  In addition the inefficacy of government supports and lack of any rent reduction, together with the company's turnover tracking below 25% of 2019 levels; the Directors have taken the decision to avoid further financial attrition and liquidate as soon as possible.

Naturally, we do apologise to all our customers and creditors. We have always been responsible in our dealings and we hope you can accept that. We also hope you will understand that this was beyond our control and is an especially difficult time for the employees and indeed the founders who are the principal shareholders of Cooks Academy, which is a family business.

If you purchased a gift voucher or paid for your cookery course using a credit or debit card please contact your bank or card provider to see if you can claim a refund through the chargeback procedure that they have in place.

If you are a creditor and have not been contacted by Cooks Academy, please send an email to iecooksacademyLiq@deloitte.ie

Stay Safe and Happy Cooking!
